National Day of Prayer 2013

  • Posted on May 2, 2013 at 10:46 pm

national day of prayerEarlier this week, I went to a church revival. And, the theme was a set back to a come back.……. I needed to hear that and it came right on time.

Although the pastor said a lot of amazing things at the revival, I want to focus on one major thing he said. His sermon came from Act 12:5, when Peter was in jail on death row and the church was praying for Peter.

The Pastor wanted to emphasis that prayer changes things and there’s a lot of power in prayer. He mentioned, “praise will release the shackles but prayer will make you a strong Christian.” As Christians, we need to pray and continue praying throughout the day…..especially being that today is National Day of Prayer. But, as Christians, we shouldn’t just pray continually today but everyday.

We have to pray because we live in a nation that are creating laws far from God’s word. As Christians, with prayer, we can make difference to prevent the gates of Hell from prevailing.

When it comes to prayer, I can be a little lazy. I’ll get caught up with the busyness of the day. But, I want to change that because I know there is power in prayer…………that’s way I didn’t want today to slide by me.

I’m making a committment to praying everyday and praying without ceasing. So, stand up with me and let’s make a committment to pray together. We can impact the world. If you want to stand up with me then let me know. I want to hear your thoughts. Leave me a comment below or just pass, facebook or tweet it along.

What Your Cinderella Story?

  • Posted on April 26, 2013 at 2:49 pm

Cinderella-Blue-disney-princess-33799193-1440-900Earlier this week, I had an unique opportunity to be creative with a Women’s Conference theme. One of my customers asked me about providing gifts for the church Women’s Conference in October. Usually this is an easy task for me….but this time I was given a little twist.

My customer told me the theme of the Women’s Conference is Cinderella. Cinderella? Where does Cinderella fit into the bible? Of course I was trying to please my customer and thought and ponder on this for some time. Would you believe I came up with some great stuff. You have to hear me out on this………….First of all, Cinderella lost her mother and essentially her father (even though he was alive). She was treated badly by her stepmother and stepsisters. She had a fairly Godmother looking over her, she met her prince charming and became a princess.

From a biblical perspective, Cinderella experienced lost, she was mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters but remained humble and obedient. She was shown and given favor for something greater. And, regardless of her present situation and circumstances, she was victorious in the end.

Now think about this, we often experience lost, Satan will use people to hurt us but if we remain faithful to God we will be given favor. And, regardless of how bad things are in our lives, we can still come out on top :)

I want to hear your thoughts. Anything you want to add about Cinderella? Did I miss anything? If so, then leave me a comment. Anyways, I would like to hear you thoughts about this. Pass it along to the friend and don’t forget to facebook and tweet this.

Spring Is Here…But Are You Gardening God’s Way?

  • Posted on April 18, 2013 at 1:15 pm

vegetable-gardenEven though the calendar says spring is here, it’s still a bit chilly outside. After a rough winter I’m definitely ready for some sunshine.

Finally, a nice 70 degrees day came and we planted some flowers outside. It wasn’t the most exciting thing I wanted to do on the 1st sping-like day of the year but I wanted to help my mom. She loves her garden and yard. To me, it’s a bunch of work and my hands get really dirty:)

The following Sunday I went to church and I came across this poem. I think is appropiate for spring time (actually it’s perfect for anytime of the year). It’s called Gardening God’s Way

Plant three rows of peas

Peace of mind-Romans 14:5

Peace of heart-Acts 15:9

Peace of soul-1 Peter 1:22

Plant four rows of squash

Squash gossip-Leviticus 19:16

Squash selfishness-Luke 18:11-14

Squash grumbling-John 6:43, James 5:9

Squash indifference-Mark 14:32-41

Plant five rows of lettuce

Lettuce be kind-1 Peter 2:1-3

Lettuce be faithful-Daniel 3:16-18

Lettuce be obedient-1 John 3:22

Lettuce love one another-John 3:16

Lettuce financially support our church-Malachi 3:6-12

No garden can be without turnips

Turnip for service-Acts 3:1

Turnip for meetings-Hebrews 10:25

Turnip to help one another-Romans 12:13

We must have Thyme

Thyme for God-Psalms 3:1-8

Thyme for prayer-Psalms 54:4

Thyme for each other-John 15:12-14

Thyme for Bible Study-Ezra 7:10

It’s the poem great? It gives all of us something to think about not just for the spring but for all 4 seasons. We have the tools (the word of God) to start digging. So, let’s get to work and start gardening God’s way. I would love to hear your thoughts about this…leave me a comment and facebook, twitter and pass it along to someone you care about.

It’s Superbowl weekend….Victory or Defeat?

  • Posted on February 2, 2013 at 3:38 pm

After church, millions of people are going to watch the Superbowl. I love Superbowl Sunday….it’s great to get together with family & friends, eat, watch really hilarious commericals, root, cheer and just have a good time.

However, as spectors we see the superbowl as fun entertainment. Have you ever wander what goes through the football players’ minds or what is said to them before the “Big Game?”

Well, I have some inspiring clips for Superbowl Sunday….one is from “Facing the Giants”

Here’s another good dose of Superbowl inspiration…. “Friday Night Lights”,  where coach Gaines talks to his team about cherishing the moment before the prayer.

I really hope you got a lot out of these movie clips. And, I hope you enjoyed the movie clips and your superbowl weekend. If you found these movie clips inspiring and fun, then pass it on to a friend….share the love:)
